Tashan : a rendezvous with torture (noun)
I wanted to start with a blog and sooner or later I was about to, but somehow an incident (rather accident) happened which couldn’t let me sleep, and so I am writing this blog.
Though I am not a movie buff, but it becomes my social responsibility, rather Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR as they call it ), to inform the society, my friends (and even foes in this case) and fellow citizens of the hap hazards of the 3 hours enigma called TASHAN.
In the first place you would ask me that why for God’s sake did I go for it, well the answer is “You don’t meet accidents by choice !” So here it goes….
Story: sorry, there is no story, at least nothing that I could figure out. A don, a call center guy, an aspiring don, and a girl, though initially you see that there is some storyline but eventually there are so many twist and turns that perhaps the director and the script writer forgot to come up to the main track….you actually can solve a lot of Reasoning questions if you can figure out a story, may be you can even crack CAT!!!
Anil Kapoor is Bhaiyaji from Kanpur UP who is an artist or may be halwai, wants to learn English for impressing his forthcoming foreign delegation (which never comes in movie), appoints a call center worker cum English tutor Jimmy (Saif) for this. Jimmy comes to teach him in a misconception that he’ll be teaching Pooja (Kareena). For few minutes the movie goes on with some Hindi-English comic (not really) sequences, and then all of a sudden Bhaiyaji turns out to be a don and Kareena a bounded labor….. then like FIDA (Kareena, Fardeen and Shahid waali movie)… Saif and Kareena robs Bhaiyajis money to pay back to bhaiyaji and free Kareena of him….. buhu,… buhu… buhu…. can u imagine …. o jus saw it this evening….
Robbery goes successful and like FIDA Kareena ditches Saif and runs with the money……. the whole movie thereafter is these people getting back the money and trying to make people laugh on stupid PJ’s. You take the sequences….. cut it in pieces…. reshuffle it and watch again … it wont make a difference.
What makes me write this blog is not only the movie but the quality of the movies Bollywood is giving. Dont they have a responsibility of atleast giving a decent enough content. Bollywood should also realize that there is a difference between eroticism and vulgarity. You find it embarrassing and awkward when Kareena makes a cheap and vulgar remark about her bra, and Saif calling Kareena a whore (in hindi !!!) for no reasons….
The entertainers of yesteryears who were admired for their work and art are ironically becoming pimps of lewdness and obscenity. They should rather start producing porn movies where atleast the purpose of the product would be known and the audience would get something…. if not a story, for the money they spent.
CAUTION : May lead to miserable weekends and misunderstandings if seen with your Girlfriend/Boyfriend
Never try it with your FAMILY !!!
Rating : No such scale is invented till date … that could rate this !!!
For all those who were/are impressed by the action sequences in trailers….. there are as much in the movie as in trailers !!!
